Hi Guys!

My past few weeks were a lot of fun! While studying for the final countdown of two out of my three classes at UF, I was preparing for the Safeway International Championship, which I heard so much about. Let me tell you, that this tournament certainly did not disappoint me! The course was in such a good shape, that I really felt honored being able to play there. Perfect fairways, bunkers, rough and lightening fast greens. The Superstition Mountain presented a breathtaking view, but it did kind of bug me to tell you the truth, when it came down to reading putts.

People told me that "everything breaks away from the mountain. Oh, but it breaks towards Phoenix, too. And don't forget that it might occasionally break into the opposite valley also. Actually, you know what, every putt is different." Well, so much for having a clear idea! Anyways, I think it was a great learning experience for me, while Lorena made the course look really easy!

After the tournament, I flew up to L.A. for a few days to do a photo shoot and visit the Titleist Performing Center in San Diego. It was my first photo shoot and it was so much fun!

I had someone do my make-up and hair and I got to pick some nice outfits that I wanted to wear. Since I haven't done anything like this before (except in some fun "amateur" sessions with my friends), I didn't know what to expect. But the photographer was really energetic and outgoing, which made it easy and a lot of fun to pose. We did a few shots inside and then we went to a wildflower field close to the beach in Malibu.

The Titleist Performing Center was very interesting. They have so much technology to offer, it is amazing. I basically tested my irons, fairway woods, Driver and wedges in order to get fitted with up-to-date specifications for me. Besides that, it was a good opportunity to test out some of the clubs that just came out. It is always a matter of balancing design, forgiveness, precision and the look of the club. I definitely found some good stuff, though!

I am looking forward to my next tournament at the Ginn Open in Orlando and I hope to see you there!

Take care,

Sandra
