World No. 3 Jiyai Shin of South Korea fired a 5-under-par 66 to seize a one-stroke lead over Germany’s Sandra Gal after the first round of the LPGA ShopRite Classic

Shin and Gal have already spent significant time locked in the heat of battle against each other in 2011.



 

Germany’s Sandra Gal got game. She proved it with her first win, which came in late March at the Kia Classic. Gal’s was an exciting win over Jiyai Shin, world number two, with a closing birdie on the 18th hole to win by a shot.
