Alaina is 15 years old and a sophomore at Fort Myers High School. Exercise and athletics are a big part of her lifestyle. She has been on the girls golf team for two years and is steadily improving. She has also been a Girls Golf of Fort Myers member for many years. Alaina started playing golf at the age of 3, and she has fallen in love with the game as the years have gone by. Aside from golf, Alaina has played soccer and she is a member of the FMHS basketball team for two years now. ln her freshman year, she played as a shooting guard and her team won the 7A Florida State Championship.
I have had the pleasure of coaching Alaina in the Fort Myers Girls Golf Program, as well as on her high school team. She has improved her skills as well as her mental game, This year, she tied for 2nd place in the high school District tournament with a score of 82. She shows courage and determination on the course and is an empowering team member. Alaina has a great attitude, which makes her an excellent role model for younger girls. She volunteers as an eLeader with my Girls Golf of Fort Myers Program and is very helpful in energizing the younger girls. She is always willing to lend a hand wherever help is needed.
Alaina is engaged in her community and volunteers at her church in Fort Myers. She is part of the hospitality team and outreach group who serve local residents in a housing community. After Hurricane lrma, Alaina volunteered by serving hot lunches and preparing supply boxes.
Academically, Alaina was inducted into NJHS at the end of 7th grade, and she now maintains a 3.8 GPA. She loves sports, but realizes that school comes first. Her balance between school and sports, and her caring personality enrich her team mates and the younger girls that she helps as an eLeader.
ln short, Alaina demonstrates many special qualities and she is a very well rounded student-athlete. I am proud of her achievements and I am very happy to coach her both in Girls Golf and in High School. She sets a great example as an eLeader through both her skills and her personality. I think that Alaina would really appreciate walking with Sandra Gal and taking in all that goes with watching her play 18 holes at the CME Group Tour Championship.
